Blue Heart in the Community
November 11, 2013
12840 Gallery visited Horace Mann School to guide the students in creating their own Blue Hearts. Students discussed why they love their town and made heart shapes with their hands. Then, students painted individual hearts they could take home to share with their families. Finally, the students collaborated in making one large heart to submit to the ongoing community exhibit, Blue Heart (click here to learn more about the project). Students layered the large heart with paint, glitter, pom-poms, feathers, foam stickers, and tissue paper. The students decided to use red, white, and blue to represent our country and honor Veterans Day, November 11, 2013. Look for the student's Blue Heart collaboration at the next Blue Heart exhibit. Details to follow.
